During coaching blocks that overlap long weekends, we add a temporary filter: require a second confirming close after markets resume full depth, or cut size in half when trading through the holiday window. Neither rule is universal — the point is to write something before the week begins.
Distinguishing news spikes from structure
A false break driven by a single headline looks different from a level that has been tested four times and finally gives way on rising participation. Homework after a holiday week often includes classifying each pierce: news, thin book, or genuine structure shift. That habit transfers to ordinary Mondays.
